GD Goenka University team wins INR 7 lakh for advanced energy storage technology.

KPIT Technologies has announced the winners of KPIT Sparkle 2025, its flagship innovation contest aimed at undergraduate engineering students. The 11th edition of the competition saw record participation, with over 28,000 students from 731 colleges submitting more than 1,300 ideas across ten themes, including artificial intelligence, sustainability, cybersecurity, and energy storage.

Over a period of seven months, projects were evaluated for their potential impact on the mobility and energy sectors. After multiple rounds of scrutiny, six teams reached the finals, where they presented innovative solutions ranging from AI-driven autonomous vehicles and next-generation energy storage systems to emission control technologies and cybersecurity applications. The event served as a platform for young innovators to showcase solutions designed to shape the future of sustainable and intelligent mobility.

The top honour was awarded to the team RYM Genergy from GD Goenka University, Gurgaon, for their breakthrough project, Ultron. The team won the Gold Award and a cash prize of INR 7 lakh for developing an advanced energy storage solution using Uni-polar Programmed Supercapacitors (UPPSC) technology. Their innovation aims to improve the efficiency of energy storage for both electric vehicles and power backup systems, addressing one of the most pressing challenges in the EV sector.

Ravi Pandit, Chairman, KPIT Technologies, stated that KPIT Sparkle has engaged with over 1.2 lakh students since its inception, inspiring them to push the boundaries of mobility and energy innovation. He noted that this year’s projects, which included AI-driven vehicles and next-generation energy storage systems, reaffirm the potential of young minds to enhance the industry.
