ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India Limited has announced the appointment of Paramjit Singh Chadha as its new Managing Director. The move marks a notable leadership transition for the company, following the long-serving tenure of P Kaniappan, under whose guidance the company solidified its position within the commercial vehicle ecosystem in India.

Paramjit Chadha brings with him close to four decades of experience in the automotive sector, having served in both OEM and component manufacturing firms. He began his career at Maruti Suzuki and later held key roles at Kalyani Brakes, Bosch Chassis Systems, Continental Brakes, and Knorr-Bremse. His leadership roles have ranged from plant and business unit head to Managing Director, with a strong focus on safety systems and braking technologies across various vehicle categories.

He has also contributed to industry knowledge sharing through his association with the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association’s Centre for Excellence and the Indian Value Engineering Society. This depth of experience is expected to strengthen ZF's operational capabilities, particularly as the industry navigates increasing regulatory focus on vehicle safety and emission compliance.

Prof Dr Peter Laier, a member of ZF’s Board of Management, acknowledged the foundational role played by Kaniappan in building the India business and expressed confidence in Chadha’s ability to take the company forward. Akash Passey, President of ZF Group India, noted that Chadha’s understanding of the Indian automotive environment will be valuable as the company looks to expand its commercial vehicle offerings and deepen local integration.
