Mumbai-based EV start-up PMV Electric has unveiled its first flagship micro-car called EaS-E at a starting price of INR 4.79 Lakh. The EV, which will be available in 120 km, 160 km, and 200 km range options, is India’s cheapest electric passenger vehicle.

The vehicle can accommodate two adults & a child, and can achieve a top speed of 70 kmph, and accelerate from standstill to 40 kmph in under 5 seconds, claimed Kalpit Patel, Founder and CEO, PMV Electric. EaS-E weighs about 550 kg, he said.

The 4G-enabled connected vehicle features different riding modes that can be accessed through a dashboard on the driver’s seat. Prominent other features include an EaS-E mode for feet-free driving, remote parking assist, cruise control, remote connectivity & diagnostics, Bluetooth connectivity, on-board navigation, access to music control and call control to the connected smartphone.

The company claims EaS-E can be charged using any 15A outlet in 3-4 hours with its on-board charger.

The EaS-E can be pre-ordered for a meagre INR 2,000. Patel claimed the company has received 6,000+ pre-orders to date, both from the domestic and international markets.

Patel said the product has not only pushed their creative and innovative limits, but has also paved the way to create a new category in the Indian auto industry – the Personal Mobility Vehicle (PMV). Production of EaS-E is likely to begin “ASAP”, he said.
