Renault Group has appointed François Provost as Chief Executive Officer of Renault S.A. and Chairman of Renault s.a.s., effective 31 July, for a four-year term. The company’s Board of Directors confirmed the decision following the recommendation of its Governance and Remuneration Committee. Provost, who previously served as Chief Procurement, Partnerships and Public Affairs Officer, will also join the Boards of both entities.

Provost brings 23 years of experience within Renault Group with a strong background in international markets and strategic partnerships. He has held senior positions across France, Europe and Asia, including CEO roles in Portugal and Korea, and has led operations in Russia, China and the Asia-Pacific region. His recent responsibilities included managing partnerships with key global players such as Nissan, Geely and Aramco, which are central to Renault’s long-term growth plans.

Jean-Dominique Senard, Chairman of Renault Group, said the appointment comes at a crucial time for the company. He noted that Provost’s strategic vision and operational experience would be vital in steering the Group through a rapidly evolving automotive industry. “There is no place for the status quo,” Senard said, emphasising the need to finalise and execute Renault’s next strategic plan with determination and innovation. He also thanked Duncan Minto for serving as interim CEO during the transition.

Provost described his appointment as a source of pride and highlighted the Group’s strong fundamentals, including its product range, brands and organisational structure. He pledged to focus on accelerating Renault’s transformation alongside its employees, dealers, suppliers and partners. “We have the assets we need to meet the increasing demands on our industry and write the next chapter of Renault’s history,” he said.
