French automaker Renault India has started exporting its sub-4 metre SUV Kiger to South Africa. The company has shipped the first batch of 760 SUVs from Chennai port to South Africa, it said in a press release.  Going forward, the company is also planning to export Kiger to Indonesia, parts of Africa, and the SAARC region soon.  Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO & Managing Director, Renault India Operations, said the commencement of Kiger exports to South Africa today and Nepal earlier this month highlights the company’s strong commitment to the ‘Make in India’ mission, demonstrating the competence of India’s design, engineering and world-class manufacturing capabilities. “Renault’s diverse range of offerings in passenger vehicles has been consistently well-received by the people of South Africa,” he added.

The vehicle manufacturer has introduced a virtual studio that seamlessly enables 360-degree views and allows the customers to configure, accessorise and make online bookings of Kiger. According to the company, it is an overall customised consumer journey that allows complete access to information and customisation on Renault Kiger.
