Skoda’s latest pricing tweak for the Kylaq is turning heads—and reshaping buyer behaviour. The top-spec Prestige variant is now stealing the spotlight, thanks to a smart repositioning strategy.

Skoda India has reported a shift in consumer preferences towards the top-spec Prestige variant of the Kylaq SUV, following a recent price restructuring across the range. The brand had increased the prices of the entry-level Classic and Signature trims while reducing the cost of the range-topping Prestige variant earlier in May.

This strategic pricing move has led to a significant change in the variant mix. At launch, the lower-spec variants accounted for nearly 40 per cent of total sales—a figure that has now dropped to under 20 per cent. Meanwhile, the Prestige trim has seen its share of bookings rise to around 15–30 per cent.

Since its market debut earlier this year, the Kylaq has sold nearly 20,000 units, averaging between 4,000 and 5,000 units per month. Skoda aims to sell 75,000 units of the Kylaq by the end of 2025 and is relying on the upcoming festive season to drive momentum.

The Kylaq continues to play a critical role in Skoda’s push to strengthen its foothold in the Indian market, with the company targeting a 2 per cent market share in the country.
