Steelbird Helmets has announced the launch of its latest SXE helmet, offering a motorcycle helmet equipped with a TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) energy absorber. Priced from INR 3599, the SXE blends safety innovations with commercial viability. The integration of a multi-layer impact management system featuring a TPE layer helps reduce rotational impact forces by approximately 20 percent. This aligns with global safety trends where helmet designs are increasingly focused on mitigating traumatic brain injuries. The SXE meets both BIS IS 4151:2015 and DOT FMVSS 218 certifications, providing Steelbird with a homologated product for markets beyond India.

The company has invested in design elements that appeal to both premium and commuter segments, aerodynamic styling, multiple shell sizes, dual visors, and reflective fabric inserts whilst maintaining an accessible price. This dual approach helps target both the growing young urban buyer and the safety-conscious long-distance riders.

This helmet’s engineering including its fibre-reinforced ABS shell, sound insulation, and climate-friendly ventilation system, helps Steelbird set a technical benchmark while keeping costs under control. The inclusion of Eco-dome logo detailing and the availability of over 13 colour options show the brand's attention to visual differentiation, while the use of hypoallergenic materials and thermoformed padding aims to enhance product longevity and rider satisfaction. With options in sizes from S to XL, the company ensures scale through standardisation.

Its DOT certification opens up routes to North American markets, where budget-friendly helmets with recognised standards are in demand. Steelbird may also use the SXE as a base platform to develop a family of helmets targeting different price and function tiers.
