The 2025 edition of SUPRA SAEINDIA has concluded with teams from engineering colleges across India demonstrating their capabilities in building formula-style vehicles. The event brought together both internal combustion and electric vehicle categories, reflecting the sector’s ongoing transition.
Team Maverick from PVG’s College of Engineering & Technology emerged as the overall winner in the internal combustion category, while Veloce Racing Electric from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology claimed the top spot in the electric vehicle category. Both teams were awarded INR 2 lakh each, recognising their ability to balance design innovation, technical performance, and execution.
Other standout performances included Team Vegadooth Racing from KLE Technological University, which finished as the first runner-up in the internal combustion class and also won endurance and autocross events. In the electric vehicle stream, Veloce Racing Electric further underlined its dominance by securing the acceleration and endurance run titles. Team Acceleracers Electric from MIT World Peace University also made its mark, winning the skid pad event and collecting an engineering excellence award.
The event highlighted how electric powertrains are becoming central to student innovation. Engineering design, cost management, and business presentation contests further tested teams on real-world industry parameters, preparing students for careers in the mobility sector. IIT Kanpur’s EV team won the cost event, while SRM Institute of Science and Technology’s Camber Racing took top honours in engineering design for combustion vehicles.
