The 12th edition of SUPRA SAEINDIA is set to take place from 13th to 16th August 2025 at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. The event will see participation from 61 engineering student teams who have built their own formula-style vehicles. The competition continues to serve as a strong platform for real-world engineering training, blending theory with hands-on problem solving and team-based execution.
SUPRA SAEINDIA has evolved into a key fixture in India’s academic motorsport calendar. With 13 teams participating in the Electric Vehicle (EV) category and 48 in the Combustion Vehicle (CV) category, this year’s event is expected to engage more than 1,500 student engineers. Over four days, teams will be judged across static assessments like engineering design, cost, and business presentation, as well as dynamic tests including acceleration, skidpad, autocross, and the final endurance run.
The backing of Maruti Suzuki as the title sponsor reinforces the company’s interest in nurturing grassroots-level talent that aligns with the automotive industry’s future requirements. Other prominent supporters such as TE Connectivity, Dassault Systemes, EDS Technologies, Envision Energy India, and Rane Group also reflect the strong industry-academia partnership that drives the event forward. Technical support from ICAT, along with institutional backing by KIET Group of Institutions and pit infrastructure by Migatronic, further strengthens the operational base of the competition.
While there is no traditional pricing strategy as seen in commercial product launches, SUPRA SAEINDIA has consistently focused on lowering the entry barrier for student participation by encouraging cost-effective vehicle building and sponsoring technical workshops.
