Suzuki Motor Corporation reported record-breaking financial results for FY2024, with consolidated revenue reaching 5.83 trillion yen and operating profit climbing to 642.9 billion yen. The company attributed the strong performance to favourable foreign exchange rates, higher unit sales, and improved profitability per vehicle.

Looking ahead, Suzuki forecasts revenue of 6.1 trillion yen and an operating profit of 500 billion yen for FY2025. Despite challenges posed by yen appreciation, the company remains committed to growth, underpinned by investment in human capital, AI-driven operational efficiency, and a stronger R&D pipeline. The automaker also announced a progressive dividend policy with an FY2024 payout of 41 yen per share, increasing to 45 yen in FY2025.

India Operations

India remained a key pillar in Suzuki’s global strategy. Wholesales in India stood at 1.795 million units in FY2024, while retail volumes rose 3.7% year-on-year. Export volumes exceeded 300,000 units for the first time. For FY2025, Suzuki expects Indian wholesales to outpace market growth, fuelled by the launch of two new SUVs. Exports are projected to rise by around 20%, driven by enhanced capacity, including the start of operations at the new Kharkhoda plant, which will manufacture the popular Brezza SUV.

Significantly, India has emerged as Suzuki’s global hub for BEV production and exports, with plans to scale capacity to 4 million units annually to meet both domestic and international demand, reinforcing the Make in India initiative.

Two-wheelers

Suzuki’s motorcycle division also saw robust growth, with sales rising 18% to surpass the one-million-unit mark for the first time. Efforts to engage younger audiences included a tie-up with Capcom’s 'Street Fighter 6,' showcasing collaboration bikes at major gaming events to boost brand visibility among Gen Z consumers.

Overall, Suzuki’s strategic focus on innovation, localisation, and global integration signals a confident push towards sustainable growth in FY2025 and beyond.
