Tata Technologies and Emerson have announced a strategic partnership aimed at transforming the way global manufacturers test and validate mobility systems. The two companies will collaborate to provide advanced and integrated testing solutions that address the rising complexity of software-defined, connected, and electrified vehicles. The partnership seeks to benefit OEMs in the automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicle sectors across key global markets.
This comes at a time when rapid changes in vehicle architecture, increased reliance on electronics, and a growing emphasis on connected and autonomous capabilities have placed greater demands on testing and validation frameworks. Tata Technologies brings experience in mobility platform development and systems engineering, while Emerson contributes with its automation technologies and software-led test systems. Together, the companies are attempting to close the gap between traditional testing models and the requirements of emerging mobility platforms.
Early projects from the partnership are already yielding notable results. In one pilot with a European luxury vehicle manufacturer, an electric powertrain test rig was delivered in just five months, compared to the usual 15-month timeline. This marked a 67 percent improvement in development speed. In another case, the two firms co-developed an automated validation system for an advanced head-up display unit, executing over 30,000 test scenarios and significantly reducing product development duration. These results point to the tangible benefits of combining intelligent automation with scalable engineering services.
Pilot programmes are already underway across India, Europe, and North America. Both companies are expected to continue building on this foundation with further joint solution development efforts.
