Tata Technologies, a global product engineering and digital services company, has launched WATTSync, a secure and scalable digital battery passport solution designed to transform transparency, traceability, and sustainability across the entire battery lifecycle, from mining to mobility to recycling. It builds on a simple but powerful premise: when you can trace it, you can trust it.

WATTSync captures and validates real-time data on battery materials, performance, carbon footprint, and recovery status while connecting PLM, MES, ERP, and cloud data to build a digital thread for every battery. AI monitors battery health, flags anomalies, and simplifies audits with multilingual assistance, while blockchain safeguards data integrity and secure, role-based access ensures transparency for suppliers, auditors, and regulators. The solution is cloud-agnostic, enabling rapid deployment and scale across geographies.

The launch comes at a critical time, with the European Union set to mandate digital passports for all EV and industrial batteries from February 2027. India has also announced plans to introduce a battery passport regime to strengthen safety, traceability, and exports, while many other countries are preparing their own frameworks. WATTSync positions Tata Technologies’ customers to move early and confidently in this evolving landscape.

By digitising the battery lifecycle, WATTSync aims to create stronger circular outcomes through second-life and recycling insights, enable faster audit-ready compliance, reduce risks with verified sourcing and tamper-evident data, and support smarter design decisions through AI-led feedback loops from field performance to engineering. With WATTSync, Tata Technologies strengthens its role at the forefront of sustainable engineering, offering a future-ready solution that addresses regulatory requirements while building trust, efficiency, and competitiveness for global mobility players.
