Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global IT services and consulting leader, has announced a major expansion of its Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) capabilities with the establishment of two new Automotive Delivery Centers in Germany—located in Munich and Villingen-Schwenningen—and a specialised engineering hub in Romania.

The German centers are positioned to offer software development and deployment services for autonomous driving, infotainment, advanced safety systems, and connected vehicle technologies. The Romanian engineering centre, meanwhile, will focus on early-stage design and innovation, building advanced automotive software platforms to address the evolving needs of OEMs.

Together, these new facilities bolster TCS' end-to-end capabilities in the SDV space—from chip-to-cloud technologies to full lifecycle support—reinforcing its position as a key partner in global automotive transformation. The centres will collaborate with TCS’ global team of over 2,000 SDV engineers, enabling the development of digital cockpits, ADAS, and critical embedded vehicle functions.

Regu Ayyaswamy, Senior Vice President and Global Head of IoT and Digital Engineering at TCS, noted that the new centers “will position TCS at the forefront of automotive innovation,” allowing it to deliver cutting-edge solutions in autonomous and cockpit systems.

Europe’s mature automotive ecosystem makes it a critical geography for TCS’ mobility ambitions. With a 25-year track record in serving European automotive clients, TCS is further strengthening its regional presence, enabling nearshore support, improved collaboration, and quicker deployment cycles.

TCS’ SDV strategy also taps into emerging technologies like generative AI to accelerate development, improve personalisation, and enhance post-launch support for vehicle software platforms.

Anupam Singhal, President and Business Group Head – Manufacturing, TCS, said, “This expansion is a key milestone in our journey toward Future-Ready Mobility—where software, engineering, and design, backed by AI, converge to deliver safer, more personalised, and continuously enriching experiences for drivers and passengers.”
