THINK Gas, one of India’s leading City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies, is accelerating the country’s transition to low-emission transport by expanding its LNG infrastructure for long-haul heavy-duty trucks.
The upcoming LNG stations will be located in Anantapur and Nellore (Andhra Pradesh), and Vallam in Tamil Nadu’s Kanchipuram District. These strategically placed hubs aim to support the fast-growing demand for cleaner fuels in freight and logistics operations across key national routes.
The LNG points are being integrated with THINK Gas’s existing LCNG (Liquefied to Compressed Natural Gas) stations to optimise infrastructure usage and streamline fuel delivery for fleet operators. The company currently runs 18 LCNG stations and operates India’s largest LNG carrier fleet, comprising 61 specialised transport trucks—ensuring nationwide distribution and uninterrupted supply of clean fuel.
Abhilesh Gupta, Managing Director and CEO, THINK Gas, said, “India is entering a new era of energy transformation, and at THINK Gas, we are proud to be at the forefront of that journey. The addition of six new LNG hubs at our existing LCNG stations marks a major milestone in our mission to accelerate the adoption of low-emission fuels in the heavy commercial vehicle segment and support economic growth through cost-effective fuel solutions.”
India aims to raise the share of natural gas in its energy mix from about 6% to 15% by 2030. With growing OEM participation, supportive government policy, and rising pressure to decarbonise logistics, LNG is fast emerging as a preferred alternative to diesel—offering both environmental and economic advantages.
THINK Gas’s innovation extends beyond infrastructure. The company has introduced Net Metering services for LNG, enabling logistics partners to track real-time fuel usage—enhancing transparency and operational efficiency. Advanced Boil-off Gas (BoG) management systems are also in place at its stations, preventing methane leakage and reinforcing the environmental integrity of its LNG supply.
The company is actively collaborating with OEMs, retrofitters, and transporters to ensure that LNG truck availability keeps pace with fuelling infrastructure deployment. With a strong presence along high-priority freight corridors such as the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and the Southern economic belt, THINK Gas is positioning itself as a key enabler in India’s green freight transformation.
Through its expanding LNG network and innovative services, THINK Gas is not just meeting today’s transport needs—it is shaping the future of clean mobility in India.
