TIL Limited has reached a new milestone in its manufacturing journey by rolling out the 400th Hyster-TIL ReachStacker from its Kharagpur facility, reinforcing India’s place in the global material handling equipment sector. The company’s steady output growth since the first unit was built in 2010 reflects a gradual but consistent strengthening of its engineering and production capabilities.
The ReachStacker segment is highly technical and typically dominated by global OEMs, making TIL’s performance in both domestic and international markets a noteworthy example of India's potential in industrial machinery. The current model boasts a 46-tonne lifting capacity and includes features such as real-time performance tracking through IoT integration, an ergonomic cabin for all-round visibility, and fuel-saving ECO-mode operations. These features are aimed at improving operator comfort and reducing operational costs, both of which are key factors in port and logistics sectors under pressure to reduce emissions and improve efficiency.
TIL has already exported more than 40 ReachStackers to markets including Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and parts of the Middle East. With sales facilitated in partnership with Hyster-Yale, a long-term collaborator since 2010, these exports highlight growing international acceptance of Indian-manufactured port equipment—an area where historically imports have dominated.
The company’s Kharagpur plant is equipped with advanced CNC machinery and is currently the only site in India with a dedicated ReachStacker testing track. Quality control is tight, with systems like GPS-enabled braking verification and structured load testing protocols. The facility's ability to meet stringent global benchmarks has become a strong foundation for TIL’s export ambitions.
