Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched new Neo Drive variants of its popular Fortuner and Legender SUVs, equipped with a 48-Volt hybrid assist system. Aimed at improving fuel efficiency, reducing emissions, and elevating the driving experience, the new Neo Drive grade marks a significant advancement in Toyota’s multi-pathway approach to sustainable mobility in India.

Retaining the Fortuner’s all-terrain prowess and the Legender’s premium styling, the Neo Drive variants feature Toyota’s robust 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine now enhanced with a 48V system comprising a belt-integrated starter generator and a lithium-ion battery. The setup delivers smoother acceleration at low speeds, better fuel economy, and reduced NVH, without compromising payload or off-road performance. The system also includes regenerative braking and a Smart Idle Start-Stop function to further optimise efficiency.

The Fortuner maintains its bold SUV appeal, while the Legender offers a sleeker design with dual-tone body colour options, split LED headlamps, and a more refined fascia. Both SUVs offer dual-tone leather interiors, soft-touch materials, and long-distance seating comfort. They also come equipped with Multi-Terrain Select for enhanced off-road control, and advanced safety features such as seven airbags, VSC, hill assist, and more.

Toyota is offering a range of ownership benefits including up to 8-year finance plans, Smart Balloon Finance options, extended warranty coverage up to 5 years/220,000 km, and five years of complimentary roadside assistance. Bookings open on June 2, with deliveries starting in the third week of June.

Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, TKM, said, “The Neo Drive 48V variants reflect our continued commitment to delivering better, future-ready cars tailored to evolving Indian customer lifestyles. As a segment-first innovation, it also underscores our focus on carbon-neutral technologies.”
