In a significant boost to India’s automotive components sector, Trilegal, a leading Indian law firm, has advised Poppe + Potthoff, a global leader in fuel injection tube technology, on its strategic joint venture (JV) with Lal Baba Engineering, a prominent domestic manufacturer of seamless pipes and tubes.
This joint venture agreement is aimed at establishing an advanced manufacturing facility in India dedicated to the production of mother hollows and cold-drawn tubes, essential components in the automotive industry. Combining Poppe + Potthoff's global technological leadership in cold-drawn seamless tube production with Lal Baba Engineering's established expertise in manufacturing mother hollows, this collaboration promises significant contributions to India's vision of becoming a key global manufacturing hub under the Make in India initiative.
The joint venture includes a comprehensive technology transfer and know-how collaboration along with a complex, tripartite supply arrangement involving two entities of Poppe + Potthoff and Lal Baba Engineering. The new production facility will not only cater to the domestic automotive industry but also target international markets, significantly enhancing India's competitive positioning in global automotive supply chains.
