The inclusion of launch control and a new race computer suggests that TVS is targeting enthusiasts who value track-day readiness in a road-legal motorcycle.

TVS Motor Company has officially launched the upgraded edition of its flagship Apache RR 310, marking its compliance with OBD-2B norms and celebrating 20 years of the Apache brand. The new TVS Apache RR 310 is available in three standard variants and three optional Built-To-Order (BTO) configurations.

The entry-level red variant without a quickshifter is priced at INR 2,77,999 (all prices ex-showroom), while the red variant with a quickshifter is set at INR 2,94,999. The Bomber Grey variant, which includes the quickshifter and additional enhancements, is priced at INR 2,99,999. For riders looking to personalise their machines, three BTO kits are available: the Dynamic Kit for INR 18,000, the Dynamic Pro Kit for INR 16,000, and a Race Replica Colour scheme—featuring the Sepang Blue inspired by the TVS Asia OMC race bike—for INR 10,000.

While the mechanicals remain largely unchanged with a 312.2cc reverse-inclined DOHC engine delivering 37.5 bhp at 9,800 rpm and 29 Nm of torque at 7,900 rpm, the updates centre around new rider aids. These include launch control, cornering drag torque control (RT-DSC), a Gen-2 race computer with multi-language support, and segment-first sequential turn signal lamps. An updated eight-spoke alloy wheel design also features, aimed at improving both styling and dynamic behaviour. The RR 310 retains its four riding modes—Track, Sport, Urban and Rain—allowing for customisation based on road or weather conditions.

Despite the enhancements, the pricing now approaches INR 3.5 lakh on-road in many cities, pushing it closer to entry-level twin-cylinder rivals. This raises the question of how much more buyers are willing to pay for incremental improvements when competition from brands like KTM, Yamaha and even Royal Enfield continues to intensify in the INR 2.5–INR 3.5 lakh bracket. With bikes like the KTM RC 390 and Yamaha R3 offering higher displacement or parallel-twin layouts, the Apache must rely on its extensive feature set and racing heritage to remain competitive.

From a strategic perspective, the latest update ensures that the TVS Apache RR 310 remains relevant in a market segment that demands continuous evolution. The BTO programme also helps buyers personalise their machines without going through aftermarket customisation, which may appeal to younger riders seeking individuality.
