TVS Motor Company has launched a new variant of its Jupiter 125 scooter with dual-tone styling and smart features aimed at strengthening its position in the highly competitive 125cc segment. The new Jupiter 125 Dual Tone SmartXonnect (SXC) is priced at INR 88,942 ex-showroom in Delhi and is available across dealerships starting this week.
While the base architecture remains the same, the Dual Tone SXC gets a series of cosmetic and functional upgrades to appeal to urban riders seeking more flair and features in their daily commute. The scooter now comes in two colour schemes, Ivory Brown and Ivory Grey, both aiming to enhance its appeal among younger and style-conscious customers.
One of the additions is the SmartXonnect feature, offering smartphone connectivity with call and SMS alerts, trip meter, fuel warnings, and mileage indicators, all displayed on a fully digital reverse LCD cluster. This marks a step forward in integrating basic connected features into mainstream commuter scooters, a space where TVS has been gradually building momentum.
The scooter retains its 124.8cc single-cylinder engine, delivering 11.1 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. Combined with the company’s i-GO Assist technology, this offers responsive performance during low-speed stop-start conditions typical in urban traffic. According to TVS, the engine update ensures better pickup without a hit to fuel efficiency, reflecting the brand’s intent to deliver practical gains rather than chasing top speed or flashy output numbers.
The Jupiter 125 Dual Tone comes with the longest seat in its class, complete with a cushioned backrest for the pillion. The under-seat storage is claimed to be the largest in the segment at 33 litres, accommodating two full-face helmets. The front fuel-fill cap and a 2-litre glove box add to the ease of use, particularly for everyday riders who value accessibility and minimal fuss.
It features what TVS calls the ‘Metal Maxx’ body, comprising extensive metal panels meant to increase structural integrity and rider safety. Larger tyres at both ends further aim to offer better grip and stability, especially on less-than-perfect roads.
