Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility arm VIDA has launched its latest VX2 focusing on affordability and ease of ownership. Buyers can choose between purchasing the scooter outright or opting for VIDA’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan, which lowers the initial cost substantially. With the subscription model, the VX2 Go starts at INR 59,490 (all prices ex-showroom), while the VX2 Plus begins at INR 64,990. Without the subscription, the scooters are priced at INR 99,490 and INR 109,990 respectively.

The introduction of a pay-per-kilometre model starting at INR 0.96 per kilometre aims to tackle high upfront costs in the EV segment. Under this model, subscribers also receive access to VIDA’s fast-charging network, battery replacements if performance drops below 70 percent, and additional support services.

VX2 Plus is powered by a 3.4kWh battery offering a claimed IDC range of up to 142 kilometres, while the VX2 Go comes with a 2.2kWh battery rated for 92 kilometres. Both variants support fast charging and come with a choice of three charging methods. The design includes a 33.2-litre under-seat storage compartment, dual passenger seat, and 12-inch wheels for improved ride stability. The VX2 Plus gets a 4.3-inch TFT display, while the Go variant is equipped with an LCD unit. Both versions support turn-by-turn navigation, smartphone connectivity, over-the-air updates, and anti-theft remote immobilisation.

Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman, Hero MotoCorp, described the VX2 not just as a product, but as part of a wider ecosystem designed to meet the daily mobility needs of Indian households. The choice of launch date, coinciding with the birth anniversary of the company’s founder, reflects the strategic importance attached to this entry-level electric model.
