VinFast Auto India has begun accepting pre-bookings for its VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs across India. Both models will be assembled locally at VinFast’s new facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, with deliveries expected to begin soon after. Customers can reserve either model with a refundable deposit of INR 21,000 through VinFast showrooms or the company’s official website.

While pricing details are yet to be disclosed, both vehicles are positioned as premium offerings in their respective segments, featuring advanced driver assistance systems, connected technologies, and interior comforts aimed at meeting urban family needs and long-range travel expectations.

The VF 7 is a more dynamic SUV offering Level 2 ADAS, a large digital interface, a panoramic glass roof and wireless charging. It is aimed at buyers looking for higher-end features with strong road presence. The smaller VF 6 is designed to appeal to families with its more compact size, balanced design and practical features, including the same ADAS suite, signature LED lighting and connected infotainment platform. Both models are tailored to address Indian driving patterns while meeting international design and safety benchmarks.

The company has tied up with 13 dealer partners to open 32 outlets across 27 cities. These include a mix of metro and non-metro locations such as Gurugram, Coimbatore, Bhubaneshwar and Surat, signalling its strategy to tap both mature and emerging EV markets simultaneously. Alongside this, the brand is working with service and infrastructure partners including RoadGrid, myTVS and Global Assure to build a robust after-sales and charging support system.

The company’s upcoming plant in Tamil Nadu, backed by a $500 million investment, is central to its localisation plan. When operational, it is expected to produce 150,000 units annually and generate over 3,000 direct jobs. This suggests that VinFast is looking beyond just assembling vehicles for sale and aims to position India as a long-term manufacturing and export hub.
