VinFast Auto India, the Indian arm of global electric vehicle giant VinFast, has inaugurated its first retail showroom in Surat, Gujarat, marking a major step in the company’s retail and customer outreach journey in India.
Located in Piplod, the 3,000 sq ft showroom is designed as a one-stop hub for EV buyers, offering immersive product experiences, a seamless vehicle purchase process, and premium after-sales service. The facility will showcase the OEM’s upcoming electric SUVs—the VF 6 and VF 7—ahead of their market launch.
VinFast began accepting pre-bookings for these premium SUVs on 15 July 2025, with a fully refundable booking amount of INR 21,000. Customers can place orders either through the showroom or online.
As part of an ambitious rollout plan, the company aims to establish 35 dealerships across 27+ Indian cities by the end of the year. The vehicles will be locally assembled at the company’s upcoming manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, further reinforcing India’s importance as both a strategic market and future EV production hub.
Speaking at the inauguration, Pham Sanh Chau, CEO, VinFast Asia, said, “The first VinFast showroom in Surat is a symbol of our deep commitment to India. We are excited to bring the VinFast experience closer to Indian consumers, delivering not just electric vehicles, but a complete ownership journey rooted in quality, trust, and service excellence.”
He also highlighted the strategic value of partnering with Chandan Car to deliver a premium and future-ready EV experience for Indian customers.
VinFast’s India entry strategy goes beyond retail. The company has inked partnerships with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to build a nationwide charging and after-sales network. Additionally, a collaboration with clean-tech firm BatX Energies will drive battery recycling initiatives and promote a circular battery value chain—demonstrating VinFast’s commitment to sustainable innovation.
