Vistara’s fleet of four Airbus A321LR aircraft will be fitted with Cobham’s AVIATOR 200S Swift Broadband system to enable essential Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) communications between the aircraft and Air Traffic Control.

Cobham’s AVIATOR 200S is the first ARINC 781, Class-4 terminal to be selected by an OEM and is a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certified light cockpit Satellite Communication (SATCOM) installation on Airbus A320 Family, A330, and A350 aircraft.

The 200S offers two segregated aircraft communication domains and an 80-times increase in data-transfer capacity compared to previous generation/legacy satellite communication systems. It also provides interfaces capable of supporting future 4D Trajectory-Based Operations routing systems for continental (SESAR and NextGen) and oceanic use.

Vistara has a fleet of nearly 50 aircraft comprising Airbus A320 and A321neos and Boeing 737-800NG, and 787-9 Dreamliners.
