Built on the MQB Evo platform, the third-generation Tiguan R-Line brings a new chassis generation, dynamic design language, and cutting-edge features, reaffirming the brand’s commitment to premium mobility for Indian customers. Customers can access Tiguan R-Line at a special introductory price of INR 48.99 lakh, with deliveries starting from 23rd April, 2025 onwards, across the Volkswagen dealership network in India.
Available in six exclusive colours—Persimmon Red Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, Oryx White with Mother of Pearl Effect, and Oyster Silver Metallic—the new Tiguan R-Line combines German engineering excellence with a sharp, feature-packed experience tailored for the evolving Indian market.
Unveiling the model, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Volkswagen India, said, “With the launch of the all-new Tiguan R-Line today, we are entering an exciting phase for Volkswagen in India, a phase that embodies the future of premium mobility from Volkswagen. This iconic SUVW, along with being bold and dynamic, is also modern, fully equipped, and highly capable to handle all terrains. Developed with the German–engineered DNA, 5-star safety, and fun-to-drive dynamics, the all-new Tiguan R-Line is here to thrill.”
Visually, the new Tiguan R-Line makes a bold statement with LED Plus headlights, a glass-covered horizontal strip at the front, and distinctive rear styling accentuated by a new horizontal LED light signature. The 19-inch diamond-turned Coventry alloy wheels and R-Line design cues add to its commanding presence. Inside, the cabin exudes sophistication with illuminated R-badged sport seats, a panoramic sunroof, 30-colour ambient lighting, brushed stainless-steel pedals, and welcome lighting—all underscoring Volkswagen’s emphasis on style and comfort.
The new Tiguan R-Line aims to elevate every drive with comfort-enhancing features such as massage seats with lumbar support, 3-zone Air-Care Climatronic air-conditioning, Park Assist Plus with Park Distance Control, and inductive smartphone charging.
Under the hood, the SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI EVO engine that delivers 204 PS of peak power and 320 Nm of torque. Mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox, the powertrain is coupled with 4Motion all-wheel-drive capability. A suite of advanced driving technologies, including DCC Pro (Dynamic Chassis Control), Vehicle Dynamics Manager (XDS), and wheel-specific braking interventions, offer exceptional agility, cabin comfort, and control.
On the safety front, the Tiguan R-Line raises the bar with 21 Level 2 ADAS features, nine airbags, a 5-star EURO NCAP rating, and other critical technologies like Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, and all-around disc brakes. This positions it among the safest SUVs on Indian roads.
Technology integration is central to the Tiguan R-Line’s appeal. It comes with a 26.04 cm fully digital cockpit with multiple user-configurable layouts, a 38.1 cm infotainment touchscreen with a redesigned interface, a head-up display, and a multifunction driving experience dial with an embedded TFT LCD. An immersive eight-speaker sound system rounds off the in-cabin tech enhancements.
Connectivity is seamless with wireless App Connect (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), wireless phone charging, and intuitive features such as IDA voice assistant and voice enhancer, ensuring convenience and clarity on the go. Navigation info seamlessly transitions from the infotainment system to the digital cockpit, helping drivers maintain focus on the road.
The Tiguan R-Line also promises peace of mind with Volkswagen’s 4EVER Care package, which includes a four-year standard warranty, four years of roadside assistance, and three complimentary services.
