Xiaomi has officially released its first electric SUV, the YU7, marking a bold step forward for the tech brand’s automotive ambitions. Designed from the ground up and not just an adaptation of the SU7 sedan, the Xiaomi YU7 presents itself as a high-performance luxury electric SUV, offering premium comfort, advanced digital interfaces, and class-leading driving technology.
At the heart of the YU7’s performance credentials is the Xiaomi HyperEngine V6s Plus, which supports dual-motor all-wheel-drive and delivers a peak power of 680 bhp. With a 0 to 100 kmph acceleration time of 3.23 seconds and a top speed of 253 kmph, the YU7 enters the performance SUV segment with figures that match or exceed premium European rivals. Paired with a dual-chamber air suspension and adaptive dampers, the chassis setup includes a front double-wishbone and rear five-link configuration.

Battery technology is another standout aspect of the YU7. The entry-level variant offers a remarkable 835 km range (CLTC) from a 96.3 kWh battery, while the Pro and Max versions, with 96.3 kWh and 101.7 kWh capacities respectively, provide around 760–770 km range with dual-motor AWD. Xiaomi employs an 800V high-voltage silicon carbide platform capable of ultra-fast charging — enabling 10 to 80 percent charge in just 12 minutes and adding up to 620 km range in 15 minutes.
The vehicle’s structural safety is backed by an advanced steel-aluminium hybrid chassis and features a newly developed 2200 MPa ultra-high strength steel in key areas like door beams and pillars. Combined with Xiaomi’s Modena platform, it offers high torsional rigidity and has passed over 50 safety tests.
The HyperVision Panoramic Display projects vital driving data across the lower windscreen using Mini LED technology. It is paired with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-based digital cockpit and NVIDIA’s DRIVE AGX Thor computing platform for autonomous features, including standard-fit LiDAR, 4D radar, and 11 cameras.
