India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. has constructed a modern 12-classroom school building for the Government High School in Thirukallimedu, Kancheepuram. This is the largest school built by Yamaha under its CSR initiative to date.

Spread across two floors, the fully equipped facility includes 12 furnished classrooms, a modern computer lab, a kitchen building, restrooms, and a 10kW solar power system sufficient to meet the school’s daily energy needs. The infrastructure also features rainwater harvesting systems, a reinforced concrete water storage sump, and a 550-metre boundary wall for campus security.

In addition, the company set up computer labs in five government schools earlier in 2024. The initiative is part of Yamaha’s broader CSR framework, which focuses on four core areas: Education, Environment, Healthcare, and Road Safety.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by local government dignitaries including C V M P Ezhilarasan, MLA, and Mayor M Mahalakshmi, along with senior Yamaha executives such as Itaru Otani, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group of Companies, Atsushi Nagashima, Director, and S Kumar, Vice President. Students and parents gathered to celebrate the occasion, where Yamaha also distributed new school bags and stationery kits to all pupils.

Yamaha has partnered with the Government of Tamil Nadu’s Namma School Namma Ooru Palli (NSNOP) initiative, aimed at enhancing infrastructure and community participation in government schools. This partnership strengthens Yamaha’s role in supporting foundational education and fostering long-term social impact through targeted, community-based interventions.
