Yulu has entered North India with the launch of its services in Zirakpur, located in Punjab’s Mohali district. This expansion marks Yulu’s first franchise partner-led deployment in the region under its Yulu Business Partner (YBP) initiative. Battery-as-a-service firm Yuma Energy will support the deployment with two EV battery swapping stations in Zirakpur, with more stations planned as demand grows.

Spearheading the regional operations is SP NexGen, a venture led by mobility entrepreneur Sahil Goyal, which will manage Yulu’s complete electric mobility ecosystem—featuring DeX goods mobility EVs and a robust IoT-driven technology platform—with support from Yulu.

The launch aims to cater to the growing demand for eco-friendly delivery solutions from grocery and food delivery brands and gig workers in the Chandigarh Tricity region.

Initial deployment will focus on Yulu DeX GR EVs in Zirakpur, followed by expansions into Peer Muchalla and Kharar. The goal is to maximise the adoption of rental EVs throughout the Tricity area.

Yulu’s launch in Zirakpur brings its total footprint to ten Indian cities, six of which are driven by YBP partners. The company provides extensive support to its franchisees, including training, operational playbooks, unit economics guidance, and connections with enterprise clients like Swiggy, Zomato, Zepto, and Blinkit.

Amit Gupta, Co-founder & CEO, Yulu, said, “Our partnership with Sahil Goyal will help accelerate green logistics in the region, bringing scalable, sustainable mobility to urban centres.”

SP NexGen’s founder Sahil Goyal, said, “We aim to ‘Yulu-fy’ the roads of Zirakpur and neighbouring areas by enabling an efficient, clean delivery ecosystem that supports both businesses and the environment.”
