ZELIO E Mobility has announced the upcoming launch of a facelift version of its Legender electric scooter, with the model set to arrive in the Indian market in July 2025. The company claims the updated version will deliver a maximum range of 150 kilometres on a single charge while maintaining a top speed of 25 kmph, placing it squarely within the low-speed e-scooter segment that targets urban commuters and short-distance riders.

The facelifted Legender will feature a revised design, sportier body graphics, and fresh colour schemes aimed at attracting younger users. It is powered by a 60/72V BLDC motor and is said to consume just 1.5 units of electricity per charge. The updated model retains its original appeal of low operating costs and functional utility, with no changes expected to its core mechanical setup. ZELIO appears to be banking on visual improvements and minor tweaks to keep the product relevant in a highly competitive segment.

The decision to stick with a 25 kmph top speed suggests the company is continuing to focus on licence-free, registration-exempt offerings that appeal to first-time electric scooter buyers or riders in smaller towns. While this limits performance, it supports ZELIO’s positioning as a brand focused on affordability and accessibility rather than high-spec features.

Kunal Arya, Co-Founder and Managing Director, ZELIO E Mobility, stated that the update as both a response to customer feedback and a means to retain ZELIO’s edge in the entry-level EV market.

ZELIO has so far sold over two lakh electric scooters and currently operates through more than 400 dealerships. The company aims to reach 1,000 outlets by the end of the year.
