ZF’s Commercial Vehicle Solutions (CVS) division has secured a significant multi-year contract to supply several thousand units of its advanced electric axle system, the AxTrax 2, to a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer in India.

The strategic order highlights the rising demand for innovative e-mobility solutions as India accelerates its transition towards cleaner, more sustainable public transport systems. Designed to replace the traditional engine, transmission, and axle in a commercial vehicle, the AxTrax 2 electric axle offers 210 kW of continuous power in a compact, lightweight architecture. Developed as part of ZF’s modular e-mobility platform, it integrates key in-house technologies to deliver high performance, efficiency, and reduced Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

Prof. Dr. Peter Laier, Member of the ZF Board of Management, head of the CVS division, and responsible for the India region, said, “This nomination demonstrates how leading manufacturers across the globe are increasingly attracted to our comprehensive technology portfolio. It shows how our tailored solutions support manufacturers at every stage of their electrification journey, enabling them to accelerate their transformation towards cleaner, more efficient mobility.”

He added that ZF’s ability to leverage cross-divisional synergies in powertrain and e-mobility expertise allows the company to deliver reliable, future-ready solutions that align with the growing market demand for cost-effective and sustainable transport options.
