The automobile of today is undergoing a massive transformation – from a product that is mainly hardware-based to a software-centric electronic device on wheels. Software today defines and drives vehicles’ convenience, safety, or other intelligent connectivity solutions.

For instance, today’s vehicles are said to have more lines of code than in aeroplanes. More importantly, many new-age OEMs are following an SDV-first approach.

Software will become the critical tipping point in the auto industry while OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers look to capture business in this software-driven value chain. It is not for nothing that manufacturers and suppliers globally are vigorously expanding their internal software R&D teams to reduce the cost of software outsourcing.

In such a scenario, as software becomes increasingly complex, it is pertinent to understand the developments in the domain of “software-defined vehicles.”

Given the subject’s importance in the current mobility context, Mobility Outlook will present a daylong conference on SDVs, under the theme “Software-Defined Vehicles: Architectures, Strategies & Solutions” at the Holiday Inn, Aerocity, New Delhi on August 29, 2023.

This is the second of the three-part series titled Mobility FutureTech. The first conference – “Making India A Global Hub For ADAS/ AD Development” was held on June 8, 2023 in Delhi. The third in the series will be on Cybersecurity Management.

The conference will have two keynote addresses, followed by a presentation by Knowledge Partner MarketsandMarkets.

In addition to technical presentations, the conference will also feature two panel discussions: one on “Risk of Software Dependency on System Architecture and Safety – Ways Forward”, which will discuss and deliberate on the topic to arrive at a roadmap for SDVs, especially on the risk of dependency on system architecture and safety.

The second panel on “Mitigating Emerging Cybersecurity Risks in Software-Defined Vehicles” will dwell on the potential cybersecurity risks in SDVs and the way forward for a threat-free driving scenario.
