To be produced at M&M’s Nasik facility, the Scorpio Classic is expected to go on sale from the last week of August.

Mahindra and Mahindra has unveiled the Scorpio Classic based on the third generation Scorpio.

Scorpio Classic Updated Front

At the front, the Scorpio Classic features M&M’s new ‘Twin Peak’ logo along with updated headlamps with static cornering technology, a new design for the bumper, skid plate and LED DRLs.

Scorpio Classic Updated Side and Rear Profile

The Scorpio Classic carries forward most of the elements from the model it is replacing. However, M&M has fitted the updated SUV with a new set of 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and a dual-tone side cladding.

The rear profile of the Scorpio Classic now features the brand name’s classic tower LED tail lamp, taking inspiration from the second generation Scorpio along with the new M&M logo and the Scorpio Classic moniker.

New GenII mHawk 2.2L 4-cylinder Diesel Engine

Besides aesthetic changes, M&M has also updated the Scorpio Classic’s powertrain. It now gets the second generation mHawk diesel engine with 130hp and 300Nm of torque. The engine gets paired with a newly developed six-speed manual transmission with v-cable shift technology.

Scorpio Classic has been updated on the chassis front too. M&M has fitted the new SUV with double wishbone suspension with coil spring – IFS with anti-roll bar at the front, while the rear setup includes a multi-link coil spring with anti-roll bar. Both the suspension pair come fitted with MTV-CL dampers.

In the case of the interior, the Scorpio Classic gets a black, and beige interior theme with premium clothe upholstery for the seats, while the steering wheel gets a leatherette wrap.

The new SUV has three seating configurations -seven seats with two+three+two setups, seven seats with two+two+three setups, and nine seats with two+three+four setups.

New 9 inch touchscreen infotainemnt system

Other changes to the interior include a 9-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, AUX and USB connectivity, 16 GB of internal storage, audio, video playback and hands-free calling.

Offroad capabilites of the new Scorpio Classic

On the safety side, the Scorpio Classic gets dual airbags, ABS, a digital immobiliser and a speed alert with a panic brake indicator and auto door lock as standard.

Scorpio Classic will be available in the shades of Pearl White, Napoli Black, Red Rage, D’Sat Silver and Galaxy Grey. The Scorpio Classic is expected to be launched in the last week of August.
