VW Golf

As the Volkswagen Golf gears up to celebrate its 50th birthday next year, it's not just a nostalgic look back at decades of success; it's a leap into the future. The world premiere of the eighth generation is set for the end of January, promising a fresh wave of innovations to carry on the Golf's iconic status.

Unveiling Automotive Revolution

Back in 1974, Volkswagen introduced the first Golf, heralding a revolution in the automotive landscape. With its front-wheel drive, variable overall concept, and sleek design by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the Golf stepped into the spotlight, succeeding the legendary Beetle. A true ‘Volkswagen’ from the start, it reached a million units sold in 1976 and has since become the most successful European car, a testament to its versatility, functionality, reliability, and quality.

Evolution Continues

No matter the generation, the Golf's secret to success lies in the sum of its characteristics. It has been a reliable companion for everyday life, democratising cutting-edge technologies and safety features. Over the years, the Golf expanded its portfolio to include variants like the Golf GTI, Golf Cabriolet, and Golf Variant. Now, in 2024, the eighth generation is ready to make its mark with refined features, new assist systems, powertrains, and state-of-the-art infotainment systems.

Preserving Legacy

Volkswagen Classic is set to accompany the Golf throughout its anniversary year, showcasing historic Golf models from the company's collection at various events. From January 31 to February 4, 2024, Golf Generations I to VII will grace the ‘Salon Rétromobile’ show in Paris, followed by a display of the Golf I and the unique EA 276 concept car at the 'Bremen Classic Motorshow' from February 2 to 4, 2024.

In the year of its golden anniversary, the Volkswagen Golf continues to redefine automotive excellence, blending history and innovation seamlessly. The carmaker is getting ready for the next chapter - unveiling of the eighth generation Golf.
