Arbe Robotics - HiRain Technologies

Arbe Robotics, a global leader in Perception Radar Solutions, has announced a significant advancement in its partnership with HiRain Technologies, a leading provider of intelligent driving solutions to car manufacturers in China. HiRain is gearing up for the mass production of 4D Imaging Radars by the end of 2024, following the successful development of a high-performance B-sample.

HiRain is now entering an intensive data collection phase, planning to cover one million kilometres using a vehicle fleet equipped with LRR610 Imaging Radars powered by Arbe's cutting-edge chipset. This initiative aims to optimise the fusion and perception system, crucial for advanced automotive safety and comfort features.

Chengjian Fan, EVP and CTO of HiRain, expressed confidence in the transformative impact of HiRain's LRR610 4D Imaging Radar, emphasising its potential to revolutionise autonomy and safety. The collaboration between HiRain and Arbe signifies a shared commitment to advancing innovation in radar technology for automotive safety.

Kobi Marenko, CEO of Arbe, highlighted the collaboration's commitment to transforming automotive safety through innovative radar technology. He expressed anticipated high demand for HiRain's 4D Imaging Radar systems, recognising the quality and reliability delivered by both companies to the industry.

HiRain's LRR610 Imaging Radar, leveraging Arbe's chipset with 48 transmitting and 48 receiving channels, offers ultra-high-resolution in both azimuth and elevation. This results in a dense point cloud that excels in imaging, detection, and tracking of multiple objects, earning it the distinction of a 'True Imaging' radar.

Key features of HiRain's LRR610 Imaging Radar include a wide field of view (120° azimuth × 30° elevation), long-range detection exceeding 350 meters, high resolution, and dynamic range for accurate target separation, and all-weather reliability. The radar operates seamlessly in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, and fog, ensuring consistent performance despite environmental challenges.
