Bosch India Crosses Ten Million Production Mark For Locally Produced ABS, ESP Units

The company first introduced ABS to India in 2005 and ESP in 2009. It crossed the one million production mark for ABS and ESP units in 2014, while five million in 2018.

Leading technology company Bosch India has announced that it has surpassed the ten million production mark for Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) units for passenger vehicles from its plant in Chakan, Pune.

The company first introduced ABS to India in 2005 and ESP in 2009, followed by the inauguration of its Chakan plant in 2010, initiating the localisation of ABS and ESP systems. From generation-5 in 2005, generation-8 in 2008 and generation-9 in 2013, it has continually been updating these products, a communication from the company stated.

The latest generation 9.3 ABS and ESP units were introduced in 2019 and are currently being produced at Chakan along with local engineering support for all our customers in India.  

Avinash Chintawar, Managing Director, Bosch Chassis Systems India, said, “Bosch has had a remarkable run in India over the last 100 years, and the milestone of producing 10 million ABS and ESP units locally at our plant in Chakan serves as a testament to our commitment to building an Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

The company crossed the one million production mark for ABS and ESP units in 2014 while five million in 2018, the company added.
