In a significant move towards sustainable transportation, Eicher Trucks and Buses, a division of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), has successfully delivered six Eicher Skyline PRO E 9M Staff AC Electric Buses to the Indian Army. This delivery aligns with the Indian Army's commitment to adopting environmentally friendly and sustainable modes of transportation for staff and troop movement.
The formal handover ceremony transpired at the Manekshaw Centre in Dhaulakuan, New Delhi, witnessing the presence of Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar, Vice Chief of the Indian Army, and other senior officers. During the event, Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO of VECV, expressed gratitude, highlighting the collaboration's significance in promoting sustainable and eco-friendly transportation.
Designed and built under the Make in India initiative, the Eicher Skyline PRO E 9M Staff AC Electric Buses showcase Eicher's established electric vehicle technology. These fully air-conditioned buses feature air suspension for enhanced comfort, safety features, and an improved overall experience for passengers and drivers.
In addition to the buses, Eicher emphasises its commitment to providing a comprehensive aftermarket experience. The vehicles are connected through the Uptime Centre, utilising AI/ML capabilities for remote and predictive diagnostics. Integrated with the 'My Eicher' fleet management platform, these buses offer real-time performance insights. The company’s network comprises 850+ touchpoints, including 425+ authorised service centres and 8,000 plus retail centres, supported by 'Eicher Site Support' at 240+ locations, ensuring seamless assistance.
