ELGi Equipments has announced its partnership with the Coimbatore-based autonomous arts and science college, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, to inaugurate the ‘GRG-ELGi Digital Innovation Dojo' at the college's GRG Campus in Peelamedu.

In line with ELGi’s digital transformation strategy based on the premise of 'Experiment, Start Small & Scale Fast', this is the first Digital Innovation Dojo, a press release from ELGi Equipments stated.

The release added that the partnership aims to provide a plethora of opportunities for women to acquire specialised technical skills while defining solutions and exploring areas of development, ultimately resulting in valuable industry experience for the participant students, together with workable solutions and fresh perspectives for ELGi.

Notably, the 'GRG-ELGi Digital Innovation Dojo' is equipped with the necessary computational systems and software from ELGi, and will engage approximately 20 interns at any given time.

The Dojo or learning centre will embrace extensive and effective use of the agile scrum framework for project management and technology advancements.

Aside, all interns will have the opportunity to work on technology platforms spanning Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Virtual/Augmented reality, along with Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

The students will also be able to interact, learn, work, and be mentored by ELGi’s industry leaders across the globe, empowering them to explore various employment opportunities in the digital transformation arena.

Dr Jairam Varadaraj, Managing Director, Elgi Equipments, said that the talent of tomorrow will succeed if business corporations and the academia bolster collaboration efforts with the purpose of driving value research and society-shaping, business-forward innovation.

Equally imperative is the focus on adopting new ways of helping graduates gain relevant experience, ensuring they enter the workforce equipped and job-ready.

Dr R Nandini, Chairperson, GRG Institutions, said, “In the future, we hope to help other companies and institutions establish similar facilities that will propel us to the front and centre of digital innovation as the future belongs to those willing to adapt and change.”
