Switch Mobility achieved a ground-breaking moment at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024. Bhupendrabhai Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, flagged off the iconic Switch EiV 22 double-decker bus at GIFT City, marking a significant leap in sustainable urban mobility.
Designed and manufactured by Switch Mobility, the Switch EiV 22 is the first electric double-decker bus in its class, signalling a commitment to redefine intra-city travel. The event showcased the brand's dedication to shaping the future of eco-friendly transportation in India.
As part of GSRTC's initiative to enhance public transportation in Gujarat, five Switch EiV 22 buses have been acquired. These buses will operate on the Gandhinagar to Ahmedabad route along the SG Highway, offering a sustainable commuting solution for the region. Switch Mobility will handle the supply, operation, and maintenance of these five electric buses.
Mahesh Babu, CEO of Switch Mobility Automotive, expressed pride in contributing to Gujarat's vision of sustainable progress. The buses are set to become iconic attractions on the Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad route, offering passengers a panoramic, comfortable, and electrifying experience. The Switch EiV 22 features spacious interiors, premium seating, and innovative elements like extra-wide doors, promising elevated commuter comfort.
Launched in August 2022, the Switch EiV 22 boasts a contemporary double-decker design and fully electric capabilities, revolutionizing intra-city bus travel in India. Tailored for cleaner and smarter journeys, the bus incorporates advanced technology, including an India-tailored AC system, emergency exits for safety compliance, and extra-wide doors.
Switch Mobility's extensive fleet, currently comprising nearly 600 buses, operates seamlessly across major Indian cities, including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad. Having covered over 50 million eco-friendly kilometers since 2018, Switch Mobility aims to enhance lives through green mobility, delivering cleaner and smarter journeys accessible to all.
