This new centre is claimed to have a fully functional workshop with two-wheelers and service infrastructure and latest tools & technology to give practical training to students on technical aspects of two-wheelers maintenance and repair.

In a bid to empower local youth with job-oriented technical skill training, the Japanese two-wheeler maker, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, in collaboration with Government Model Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Bengaluru, inaugurated its third Skill Enhancement Centre in Bengaluru.

This new centre is claimed to have a fully functional workshop with two-wheelers and service infrastructure and latest tools & technology to give practical training to students on technical aspects of two-wheelers maintenance and repair.

Upon completion of the training programme, the 2W manufacturer will also support recruitment opportunities for successful candidates at its dealerships.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Yogeshwara S., Director, Department of Industrial Training and Employment, Government of Karnataka, Vaijagond, Joint Director, Bangalore Divisional Office, Department of Industrial Training and Employment, Government of Karnataka, Halappa Shetty, Deputy Director and Principal, Government Model ITI, Bengaluru, M. S. Srivathsa, Deputy General Manager, Regional Office South Customer Service, HMSI, Vivek Taluja, Deputy General Manager, Regional Office South, HMSI along with other dignitaries from HMSI.

Pradeep Pandey, Senior Vice President - Customer Service, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said that while supporting the Skill India Mission to empower Indian youth, the company is also fulfilling its commitment to up-skill local youth and enhance their employability.

The constant changes in the rapidly evolving automobile industry have raised the demand for skilled technical manpower. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, students could not get hands-on practical training, he added.
