Jet Airways on Thursday operated its first test flight from Hyderabad to Delhi with the callsign 9W101.

The test flight was conducted using a 737-800 NG with the tail number VT-SXE.

This aircraft was recently recertified by the airline from Spicejet.

The Mumbai based airline tweeted from its official handle, “Today, May 5, our 29th birthday, Jet Airways flew again! An emotional day for all of us who have been waiting, working, and praying for this day, as well as for Jet's loyal customers who can't wait for Jet to commence operations again.”  Jet Airways began operations in May, 1993 but  ceased operations on April 17, 2019.

The airline plans to restart operations in the Q3 of this year and its new owners, Jalan-Kalrock consortium aim to restart the operations using six narrow body Boeing 737s along with an all-female cabin crew.
