Kia India’s Plant Dispatches Half Million Vehicles In 31 Months

The carmaker has also surpassed the four-lakh sales mark in the country and has already shipped over a lakh of vehicles to 91 countries.

The Korean carmaker, Kia India, on Tuesday announced that it has crossed the five lakh production mark for both its domestic and export market at its Anantapur plant.

According to a press release from the company, it has also surpassed the four lakh sales mark in the country and has already shipped over a lakh of cars to 91 countries since it began shipping Seltos in September 2019.

In addition, it also became the leading UV exporter in the country, with a market share of over 25% in 2021, the release added.

Tae-Jin Park, Managing Director and CEO, Kia India, said, “Half-a-million is a big number and we are proud to have attained this milestone in less than 2.5 years. Now, with the Carens already launched, we are confident of achieving our next milestones at a much faster pace, creating new benchmarks that will chart the course of our growth journey in the country.”

At present, the company has an all SUV product portfolio, including the Seltos, Sonet, Carnival and the recently launched Carens.
