Lear Corporation, a prominent leader in automotive technology specialising in Seating and E-Systems, declared its definitive agreement to acquire WIP Industrial Automation, a top-tier systems integrator from Spain.

WIP Industrial Automation, with 25 years in the business and a history as a supplier to Lear, is renowned for its expertise in robotics and AI-based computer vision technologies. These competencies are crucial for enhancing safety, quality, and efficiency within manufacturing processes. The integration of WIP is expected to fortify Lear’s operational efficiency, especially amidst challenges like rising wage inflation.

This acquisition marks another strategic step by Lear to expand its global automation and digital prowess. It follows previous successful integrations with ASI Automation, Thagora Technology SRL, and InTouch Automation. The combined expertise of these entities provides Lear with a comprehensive portfolio of automation solutions that span critical aspects of manufacturing and bolster the development of pioneering automation technologies.
