MediaTek has introduced its next-generation automotive platform, Dimensity Auto, designed to provide automakers with various cutting-edge technologies for the future of intelligent, always-connected vehicles.
The platform offers a comprehensive portfolio that includes Dimensity Auto Cockpit, Auto Connect, Auto Drive, and Auto Components.
Dimensity Auto uses a high-performance 3nm advanced process with efficient power consumption and a scalable AI processor. In addition, its high-performance AI multi-processors are equipped with a deep learning accelerator (MDLA) and a vision processing unit (MVPU).
A press release from the company noted that the Dimensity Auto Cockpit is designed to bring the company’s flagship-grade experience in smart home and Entertainment to vehicles and is built using leading chip manufacturing processes to maximise feature integration, performance, and power efficiency. With its MiraVision smart display technology, Dimensity Auto supports multiple displays and up to 8K 120Hz screens in HDR, along with multiple HDR cameras and dedicated DSP for microphone audio processing.
Jerry Yu, Corporate Senior Vice President and General Manager, CCM Business Group, noted that the goal is to leverage decades of expertise across several technological categories to deliver a smart life on wheels.
