SAIC owned MG Motor India has on Wednesday announced the launch of MG eXpert, a product exploration experience developed in cooperation with Eccentric Engine using its Experience Manager tool.

Using human intervention and AR technology, the tool will deliver a broad range of flexible and convenient interactions that will provide clients with a holistic buying experience across many touchpoints from the comfort of their own home, claimed the company.

Currently, 85-90% of customers start their purchase journey online, and it takes five to 30 days to complete the sales process in the normal course. With MG eXpert, the time span could get compressed by upwards of 50%, said Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India, at the launch.

According to the press release, the facility brings together the best audio and visual content to deliver a seamless product exploration, bridging the gap between virtual and face-to-face interaction.

With the ‘Live Streaming’ AR on-vehicle, customers can also see an actual car, visualise the colour palate and accessorise the vehicle for the final look and feel. Moreover, the customers can even connect directly with product eXperts to make a purchase decision with step-by-step guidance, the company said.

Besides a virtual look at the car, MG eXpert can provide customers with on-road price, expected delivery date, and variant comparison, effectively bringing the dealership experience home.

Gupta said, “With a tech-backed seamless customer experience at the core of our brand philosophy, MG eXpert works as a one-stop simple and convenient solution to multiple queries from product feature to ownership.”

Varun Shah, Co-Founder and CEO, Eccentric Engine, said, “Our new Experience Manager will provide immense opportunities to our partner MG Motor and their dealership partners to create unparalleled engagement with their customers by changing the very nature of interactions.”
