Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani's Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP) division has announced the launch of new programmes aimed at addressing the dynamic automotive landscape in India. These programmes mark a significant milestone as the first of their kind offered with a curriculum crafted to empower engineers with cutting-edge skills demanded by the rapidly evolving automotive sector.
Developed in collaboration with major automotive companies, the programmes integrate real-world experiences into the curriculum, ensuring a seamless blend of theory and practical application.
The deadline for applications for admission to these programmes is March 18, 2024, offering aspiring engineers an opportunity to enhance their expertise without interrupting their careers.
Post Graduate Diploma programme in Smart Mobility
The Smart Mobility programme aims to equip students with a deep understanding of smart mobility concepts, technologies, and policies, preparing them to drive innovation and sustainable practices in urban transportation. Participants will gain proficiency in processing extensive sensor data and interpreting dynamic scenarios to make informed decisions in the realm of smart mobility.
Post Graduate Diploma programme in Electric Vehicles
Designed for engineers aspiring to excel in the burgeoning field of electric vehicles, this programme covers areas such as vehicle design, energy management techniques, EV regulations, power electronics, and energy storage systems. Participants will learn to develop future electric vehicles while adhering to industry standards, gaining expertise in motor control, battery management systems, and hardware-in-the-loop implementations.
Post Graduate Diploma programme in Automotive Cybersecurity
With automobiles becoming increasingly connected and susceptible to cyber threats, the Automotive Cybersecurity programme addresses the unique challenges in securing vehicles against cyber-attacks. Participants will acquire comprehensive knowledge of cybersecurity systems, including threat modelling, risk assessment, security controls, forensics, compliance, audits, and vehicle and system security.
Prof Paramesw Chidamparam, Head of the Core Engineering Group at BITS Pilani's WILP division, highlighted the significance of these programmes in meeting the industry's demands. He emphasised the critical role of smart mobility solutions in transforming transportation and underscored the importance of expertise in automotive cybersecurity and electric vehicle technologies.
These innovative PG diploma programmes not only provide conceptual knowledge but also offer hands-on experience through remote and virtual labs, enabling engineers to design, evaluate, and implement smart mobility solutions effectively.
