Nigerian Army Inks Training Contract For Chetak Helicopters with HAL

HAL has started Phase-II flying training on Chetak helicopters for the six Nigerian pilots, which is slated to be completed by December 2022.

The Nigerian Army has entered into a contract with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for Phase-II flying training on Chetak helicopters.

Under the contract terms, six Nigerian Army Aviation officers will be trained by HAL. Commodore Anthony Victor Kujoh, Defence Adviser, High Commission of Nigeria in India, said, “Nigeria would not only like to further enhance the business relationship with HAL for training, but also towards asset acquisition.” 

HAL has started Phase-II flying training on Chetak helicopters for the six Nigerian pilots, which is slated to be completed by December 2022. As part of the training, 70 hours of flying training would be imparted for each Nigerian Army Aviation Officer.

The latest contract is the continuation of a contract signed in April 2021 for imparting Phase-I flying training to six Nigerian Army aviation officers, which HAL successfully executed in December 2021.
