Nissan Appoints Saurabh Vatsa As Deputy Managing Director

Reporting to Managing Director Rakesh Srivastava, Vatsa will play a pivotal role in executing the ongoing transformation roadmap, aligning with Nissan's Mid Term Plan (MTP) and Ambition 2030 goals.

Nissan Motor India takes a significant step towards its business transformation with the appointment of Saurabh Vatsa as Deputy Managing Director, effective immediately.

Saurabh Vatsa, previously associated with Stellantis, where he led the Citroen brand in India since its inception, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. With a background spanning over two decades at General Motors and diverse roles across Asian markets, Vatsa has expertise in strategic business functions, including Product Planning, Program Management, Sales Planning, Marketing, Communications, and Retail/Commercial Sales.

Commenting on the appointment, Frank Torres, President, Nissan India Operations, expressed enthusiasm, stating, 'We are excited to on-board Saurabh at Nissan Motor India as Deputy Managing Director at this crucial juncture for the company as we head into 2024. His appointment underpins our commitment to invest $600m (INR 5,300 crore) in India as part of the Alliance and introduce more products for the Indian consumer as part of the transformation plan.'

In his new role, Vatsa will actively contribute to Nissan's transformation plan, positioning the company for its next phase, as outlined by the company in 2023. The move signifies Nissan's commitment to navigate the challenges and opportunities in the evolving automotive industry in India.
