Ola Electric - India's biggest electric two-wheeler maker is planning to widen its footprint. The company is working on a new entry-level electric commuter motorcycle.

The Bengaluru-based start-up currently sells the S1 scooter range in various options. But it looks like it wants to be one of the first EV brands to enter the electric bike space.

A few months ago, the company unveiled a range of electric bikes in concept form. But recently, Ola has registered a patent image of a new bike. From the looks of it, this bike looks like a commuter model as it has cycle parts from that segment. The picture showed a box-type swingarm, a traditional suspension setup at the front and the back along with a commuter-ish handlebar and mirrors.

There are other aspects like 17-inch wheels, narrow tyres and single long seats that shows the bike's nature. As of now, there are no details on the battery pack and the motor. But knowing Ola, there's likely to be a range of variants catering to various performance and price points.

Ola Electric is likely to launch this electric motorcycle sometime next year and could carry a price tag of around Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom).
