The collaboration sets forth ambitious targets, with Omega Seiki planning to deploy EV batteries totalling over 1 GWH in the next five years.

In a pioneering move to enhance sustainability practices in the electric vehicle (EV) sector, Omega Seiki Private Limited (OSPL) has joined forces with Attero, a renowned leader in e-waste management and lithium-ion battery recycling. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two entities marks a strategic leap towards comprehensive EV battery reuse life cycle management.

Omega Seiki, having deployed over 10,000 electric vehicles, aims to repurpose their batteries for energy storage through Attero's expertise, emphasising their commitment to responsible EV battery solutions. Simultaneously, Omega Seiki and Attero collectively aspire to recycle over 100 MWh of batteries in the next 3-4 years, underlining their dedication to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.

Attero boasts a cutting-edge facility with a substantial capacity to process 1,45,000 metric tons of E-Waste and 11,000 metric tons of Battery Waste annually, showcasing its commitment to address the environmental challenges associated with the escalating production and disposal of electric vehicle components. The company holds over 45 granted global patents and over 200 applied for, making it a pioneer in li-ion battery recycling and sustainable e-waste management.

Recognising its pivotal role in shaping sustainable practices, OSPL has converted all its plants into green energy solar-powered facilities. OSPL's commitment extends beyond its own operations, urging suppliers to embrace sustainable practices, and ensuring the recycling of 100% of its waste.

Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Private Limited, emphasised the strategic imperative of this collaboration, stating, 'Through our collaboration with Attero, we reaffirm our dedication to environmental stewardship, aiming not only to propel advancements in EV technology but also to set industry benchmarks in conscientious battery waste management.”

The collaboration between OSPL and Attero extends beyond India, encompassing the ASEAN and African regions, contributing to a cleaner and greener future globally.
