Swedish airframer Saab has awarded a multimillion-dollar contract to Fokker Elmo SASMOS Interconnection Systems (FE-SIS) to manufacture Electrical Interconnections Systems (EIS) for the Boeing-Saab T-7A advanced trainer aircraft.

FE-SIS is a JV between GKN Aerospace and SASMOS HET Technologies, located in Bengaluru and the first EIS shipset is slated for delivery in 2022.

Michiel van der Maat, Vice President, GKN Aerospace Defence, said the FE-SIS team’s continued commitment to quality, on-time delivery and customer focus had led to its selection for the supply of EIS aft-section wiring for the new Boeing-Saab platform.

FE-SIS’s Centre of Excellence for Aircraft Harnesses in Bengaluru will deliver the required wiring systems for the advanced trainer aircraft’s aft fuselage under a multi-year contract.
