The new 1.6 kWh battery pack, which can be easily stowed in the boot of the scooter, will allow the scooter for a claimed range of 300 kms.

Electric 2W startup Simple Energy, on Tuesday, launched an additional battery pack option for its flagship electric scooter, Simple One.

With the advanced additional battery, the e2W is priced at INR 1,44,999, ex-showroom, while the original variant without the extra battery will continue to be available at INR 1,09,999, the company said.

Customers can opt for the additional battery pack option during the final payment, with deliveries beginning in June, a release from the company stated.

The new 1.6 kWh battery pack will allow the scooter for a claimed range of 300 kms. Furthermore, it can be easily stowed in the boot of the scooter, greatly aiding the user experience, the release added.

Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO, Simple Energy, said, “When we conceived the Simple One, we had the aim of offering an electric scooter that could offer enough range for users to not have to worry about range or charging. Offering an extra battery will allow power users to reach destinations that no other electric two-wheeler in India can.”

The company recently unveiled an upgraded motor for the e2W, which boosts the power to 72Nm along with attaining an efficiency of 96%, the company claimed.

The scooter can be booked at INR 1,947, with deliveries slated to start from June this year.
